Since its establishment, QUICK Corp. (hereinafter, “QUICK”) has provided a wide range of information from a fair and impartial standpoint and has earned the trust of a broad range of customers. At the same time, with an awareness of the social nature of our business, we have acted with integrity toward all of our stakeholders. As a group of information professionals, we continue to sophisticate our skills, be sensitive to changes in society and the market, and respond swiftly to them all the time.

With the urgent need to address social and environmental issues, companies have an increasingly important responsibility to help realize a sustainable society. For QUICK, which has been committed to supporting the infrastructure of the Japanese economy through financial and economic information services, contributing to the creation of a sustainable society is also a mission of the highest priority.

To make it come true, it is essential for QUICK and our suppliers to work together. This Supplier Code of Conduct summarizes QUICK’s approach to realizing sustainable management and the norms that we would like our suppliers to work on together.

Corporate Ethics

  1. Compliance with laws, regulations, and social norms
    Suppliers shall comply with the laws, regulations, and social norms established in their respective countries and regions in their business activities.
  2. Prevention of corruption and maintenance of sound relationships with politics, government, etc.
    Suppliers shall maintain integrity in all business interactions and adhere to a policy prohibiting corrupt practices and relationships with anti-social forces.
  3. Prevention of misconduct
    Suppliers shall engage in activities to prevent misconduct and have systems in place to detect and respond to such misconduct at an early stage. Suppliers shall comply with insider trading regulations and other related laws and regulations, and ensure that misconduct practices are prevented.
  4. Protection of identity and elimination of retaliation
    Suppliers shall ensure the confidentiality, anonymity, and protection of whistleblowers and have a system in place that allows them to raise concerns without any fear of retaliation.
  5. Disclosure of information for realizing a sustainable society
    Suppliers shall endeavor to disclose important matters and initiatives for realizing a sustainable society, such as environmental protection, respect for human rights, and compliance with social norms.

Information Security

  1. Strict management and protection of acquired confidential information
    Suppliers shall comply with the laws and regulations of each country to appropriately manage and protect the confidentiality and integrity of data.
    Suppliers shall closely monitor amendments to laws and regulations, as well as developments by regulatory authorities and self-regulatory organizations, and strive to develop and review internal rules and management systems.
  2. Protection against information system threats and implementation of necessary countermeasures
    Suppliers shall design, develop, and operate information systems that ensure services or products do not contain malicious code.
    Suppliers shall promote efforts to prevent damage to themselves and others by preventing unauthorized access and taking necessary measures to ensure security.
  3. Appropriate information management and utilization
    Suppliers shall properly manage and protect privacy, intellectual property rights, and other rights that should be protected when utilizing information in their services or products.

Labor and Human Rights

  1. Prohibition of discrimination and harassment
    Suppliers shall not engage in any form of discrimination or harassment based on race, ethnicity, national origin, place of birth, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability status, or religion.
  2. Prohibition of forced labor
    Suppliers shall not permit work involving unreasonable physical or mental restraints against the workers’ will.
  3. Prohibition of child labor
    Suppliers shall not employ children of an age where employment is prohibited by the laws of the country where they work.
  4. Observance of working hours
    Suppliers shall not make their employees work exceeding the legally stipulated maximum working hours.
  5. Payment of wages and allowances
    Suppliers shall guarantee minimum wages as stipulated by law, and shall pay fair and reasonable wages and allowances.
  6. Respect for workers’ rights
    Suppliers shall respect the right of workers to organize, bargain collectively, and take collective action.
  7. Freedom of expression and protection of privacy
    Suppliers shall be aware of the freedom of expression in all media and the protection of privacy, and shall ensure that these are not infringed upon.

Health and Safety

  1. Securing a safe and hygienic working environment
    Suppliers shall ensure worker safety through appropriate risk management for accidents, disasters, and illnesses, and shall provide clean facilities and a hygienic working environment.
  2. Addressing occupational accidents and illnesses
    Suppliers shall grasp the situation of occupational accidents and illnesses, and deal with them appropriately, and shall put in place a system for corrective action and enabling employees to return to work.
  3. Communication and education on health and safety
    Suppliers shall regularly provide education on health and safety in the workplace, and provide guidance and support to maintain and promote good health.

Environment

  1. Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through efficient energy use and information disclosure
    Suppliers shall strive to calculate, document, and disclose energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, they shall work to continuously reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions toward decarbonization.
  2. Sustainable and efficient use of resources
    Suppliers shall change production, maintenance, and equipment processes, replace materials, and practice reuse, conservation, recycling, and other means to realize a circular economy.
    Suppliers shall continuously strive to reduce the consumption of natural resources such as water and raw materials.
  3. Management and reduction of wastewater and exhaust air
    Suppliers shall strive to prevent environmental pollution and reduce the amount of exhaust air, wastewater, and other discharges. In addition, they shall conduct regular monitoring and appropriate treatment and control in accordance with the laws and regulations of the countries where they are located.
  4. Waste reduction and management
    Suppliers shall identify waste (other than hazardous materials) and strive for proper management, reduction, and responsible disposal or recycling.
  5. Control of hazardous materials
    Suppliers shall identify and properly manage chemicals, wastes, and other substances hazardous to human health and the environment.
    Suppliers shall ensure safe handling, transfer, storage, utilization, recycling, reuse, and disposal.
  6. Compliance with environmental laws and regulations
    Suppliers ensure that their operations comply with all applicable environmental laws.
    Suppliers shall obtain all necessary permits, approvals, and registrations, and comply with all conditions and requirements, including operations and reporting.
