Investor Sentiment Index is a proprietary index utilizing questionnaire data collected by QUICK Monthly Surveys (Equity). The index is calculated based on the stance of funds’ domestic stocks allocation ratios answered by domestic institutional investors (fund managers).
The index value ranges between 0 and 100, and above 50 indicates that domestic institutional investors are “Bullish” in their investment stance, while below 50 indicates that they are “Bearish”.

This survey is one of Japan's largest market sentiment surveys which focus on market forecast, market influencing factors and investment stance of market participants such as traders, analysts and institutional investors in equity, fixed income and forex market. Anonymous individual forms of survey responses are used for university research.
"QUICK Short-Term Economic Survey" (QUICK Tankan) is a summary of economic surveys such as business confidence surveys conducted every month for listed companies in Japan.
